We are glad to have participated in the potential of Agrivoltaics in East Africa learning Event at the ICRAF Campus.
Agrivoltaic is a way of combining solar panels to produce both food and electricity. Some of the benefits of Agrovoltaic is energy, security, water security ( less water is used for irrigation), food security and the panels improve value of some high value crops.
Some of the countries in Africa implementing Agrovoltaic in place is Tanzania and Kenya at latia agribusiness center in isinya where we later went for a learning visit.
The project is supported by GCRF (Global Challenges Fund) in collaborations with the university of Sheffield University of New York, World Agroforestry (ICRAF).
