We closed our week on a high note with visitors from St. Joseph workers , nyeri county at Cshep Ndeiya.
They came to learn and share on Agroecological practices, importance of practicing organic farming for a sustainable food production, pest management, water harvesting, water recycling, establishment of a kitchen garden, seed saving, Azolla farming and value addition.
They were also interestested to know of, why is CSHEP so passionate about agroecology and guess what was our simple answer
– To promotes sustainable farming practices that prioritize environmental health, biodiversity, and community well-being. Which is the way to produce food that is healthier for both people and the planet, while also fostering resilience against climate change and other challenges facing agriculture.
– It also empower farmers by emphasizing their knowledge and expertise in managing ecosystems.
